Safari 3.2.1

The new update for Safari (web browser) has seriously been pissing me off. I loved the browser because it hardly ever crashed on me. Since Apple released this new update it's been crashing on me after a couple minutes of use. What a bummer, anyone else having this problem? Guess Mozilla will have to suffice for now until things hopefully improve on the Safari front.

The new DC-In board has been kicking ass. The G4 can finally recharge it's battery.
Let me holler at ya for a second. Holla! Holla! Holla! Holla!

Touching Logic Boards

The G4 is back up and running. It's finally getting the power it needs
to operate. It took a couple hours to tear it apart and reasemble.
Here's a picture of me getting familiar with the guts of the beast.

Living In The Fast Lane

Whelp, I ordered a new part for my Powerbook this morning which means I should have it sometime Wednesday from the snail mail. Then I'm facing a couple hours of work dismantling my computer yet again. Hopefully, the surgery goes well. *Crossing Fingers*

Side Note: I had these little babies made up for my nieces for Christmas. With some sweatshop work from my Mom and conceptional ideas from yours truly these fine creatures were made. I believe they turned out nicely. ::Prototypes::

The G4 is Out of Commission Again.

I'm bummed. I've lost my Powerbook G4 again. My DC-In Board (the actual input for the power adapter) went out on me. It's fixable, once I get my hands on replacement part. It's looking like I'm going to have to order one online. No one in town stocks and sells Apple parts. Or at least none that I've found yet. No quick fixing this round. I guess I'll just have to wait. That little computer is a major element in my everyday life. Which is probably sad, yes. But it's true, it's my little buddy. I get a lot done with that little mother. It has been a part of my life for the last four years.

I realize one day I'll need to retire this little guy. Until Apple creates another 12" bundle of kick ass the Powerbook G4 will be my weapon of choice.

Sincerely,

Bummed Zach.

Scabs

I fell down recently and skinned up my knee pretty good. I can't remember the last time I've had a scab like the one I have today. Years I'm sure since my last scab incident. Regardless, I can't help but finger and pry and poke my scab like a five year old would. The temptation to pull it right off is still very alluring as it was back then. There's something about seeing how far I can go before something gets pulled that shouldn't have been pulled. It certainly is a vicious cycle of bleeding, healing, picking and regenerating. I'm defiantly a fan of scars on my legs and arms. I figure it shows character, like natural tattoos.

I thought this video was pretty funny. I hope this is what Sasquatch does all day in the wilderness. Graham Annable has some interesting cartoons and I encourage you all to check him out sometime.

Today sucked bad, but...

I lost either a CV joint or my transmission in my car today on my way to work this morning. (Totally Bogus) My car almost killed me too. I had about seven dudes helping me push my P.O.S. car into the parking lot at work when I tripped and fell as I fell I looked up and saw my rear tire roll past my head. (Scary Larry) But all I have is a nasty case of road rash and one worthless car. At least I still have my head. (Thank goodness)

I drew this picture yesterday... I swear to god the tow truck driver that came and picked up my car looked just like this guy. (Pretty weird)

That's my story, now I sit waiting for bad news from the dealer. I have been inspired to make a 3D version of this guy though.

I'm going to Five Guys Saturday!

This place supposedly sells burgers for breakfast! How awesome is that?
There's only one store in the whole state of MN. Luckily it's only a stone's throw away in St. Cloud.
Which means yours truly will be making a Saturday cruise up to the cloud to try one of their burgers.

You can expect a full report soon as I experience the Five Guys Burger.

Lost Another Hard Drive :(

It's Monday night, and I've lost my hard drive in my Powerbook yet
again. It all happened as I was preparing to go up to my room after a
night of web surfing / movie finding. I sat my cpmpter on the arm of
the couch while it was open and running when I went to unplug my power
adaptor. I yanked to hard on the cord sending my computer crashing
down hard onto the wood floor. Soon as it happened I was like sh*t not
again. I rushed to pick it up and it just sat there searching for it's
brain. I didn't really loose too much, just wasted time is about all.
I can get everything I once had on it back fairly easy. I've learned
to back my hard drives more often then not. The part I'm bummed about
is I had just found a movie on the Internet and was going to watch
it. That's when I lost my hard drive for the third time. I've already
priced out another hard drive. I can pick another one up for 80 - 150
bucks depending on how much space I want the next time around...

Please becareful with your labtops, they don't take falls very well.

4 Day Weekend

Well, I only have an hour and forty five minutes now until I start my four day weekend. I don't really have anything major planned.
Tonight, I'll be watching the last Vikings pre-season game. I also want to catch Obama's DNC speech later tonight. I'm going to do all that while I shallow a couple beers. Tomorrow, I'll probably get up and go grocery shopping (my least favorite thing to do) and get it out of the way. Draw a little bit. Sit around and enjoy life. Maybe go for a cruise and take a couple snap shots of the city. Saturday I promised to help a friend move into his new place. That shouldn't take too long. The rest of the day will probably be spent watching some movies. Sunday, wash clothes, clean the inside of the 300 (has been needing it for awhile), Then do my Sunday cruise around the lakes (see whose out). Monday, I'll be relaxing and not thinking about work on Tuesday and the looming deadlines.

That's what I'll be doing for the next four days if everything goes as planned.

I''ll see ya in September!

I've been looking for this book forever!

I used to check this book out from the library at Lowell Elementary every chance I could get.
I couldn't remember the name of this book until I stumbled upon www.whatsthatbook.com
Where some nice person pointed me into the right direction. I can expect my copy of "the best sports book in the whole wide world" (which happens to be one of my favorite books of my child hood) within five to seven business days. Wahoo!
My life feels a little more complete now.

Slob was his name O

I wore a white shirt to work today... Why? Because I'm a risk taker like that. I was wrapping up a cup of coffee (a hybrid mix I slapped together). When I managed to dribble on myself. GREAT! I instantly went into recovery mode and dashed to the bathroom where I washed the stain out (the best I could, until I get a chance to shout it out at least). Then I went over to the screen printers area with my super wet somewhat stain free shirt where I threw it in a huge belt dryer that's going all the time. It took about six times or so and BAM! Back to normal, kind of... My shirt's a little damp yet. But I can deal with it. Part of living the slob lifestyle I suppose. Damp and slightly stained that's how I roll.

I managed to watch most of the movies I gathered for my movie marathon weekend. I ended up substituting a couple new one movies in pushing some others back. I caught The Incredible Hulk, which was pretty good, considering I'm getting burned out with the whole comic book hero fad. I also substituted "I Like Killing Flies" a documentary about a hole-in-the-wall Greenwich Village restaurant. The restaurant owner has some really interesting philosophies about life while some were crazy but entertaining if anything.

Overall I had a successful Zach weekend.

Thursday Living

I've finally seen Pineapple Express this week. I enjoyed it. I'd say more so than Tropic Thunder. Which is a completely different movie, I know. Pine Express was defiantly more brutal and gruesome then I imagined it would be. Which was an interesting twist to the comedy. Overall, if you want to see it I'd say see it. But if you're not in a rush it's a worthy rental for sure. I'm going to have to say my favorite comedy of the summer was Step Brothers by far. It made me laugh way harder then both Pine and Tropic put together.

I also caught a movie called Matchpoint last night. It was pretty good. I generally enjoy Woody Allen movies. I guess it's no surprise that I liked this movie. It just goes to show guys suck. That dude was one lucky guy.

P.S.
We're throwing a party in a couple weeks too and here's the flyer I made for it.

Tidbits

Were you aware that there's a Minneapolis in Kansas and in North Carolina?

The girls at Starbucks have to wake up every morning at 3:15 and open the store at 4:00. That sucks.

Does your pee smell like coffee? Mine does.

I've noticed over the last couple days when I've had a Starbucks in the morning and then later released it back to the world a noticeable Starbuck oder omits itself around the urinal. Anyone else notice this? Just potent stuff I suppose. *shrugs*

Here's a funny quote I found about a guy hating on hippies protesting Starbucks in San Francisco.
"I will piss all over your stupid javahouse graves (and my pee will smell like sweet, sweet Starbucks coffee)".

New Wacom Pen Came In!

Tropic Thunder

I went to the movies last night with some friends and saw Tropic Thunder. I had high expectations for this movie. I've found that when ever I have high expectations for movies they hardly live up to them. Maybe I set the expectations too high to be obtained. The movie as a whole wasn't bad just mediocre. I'm going to give it another chance when it comes out on DVD. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for Tropic Thunder last night. For now my opinion is that this movie was a little overrated. Downy Jr did a pretty good job. Jack was his normal self. Ben was alright. The other guys were pretty good. Tom Cruise was a spaz. It's still hard to get over the whole scientology thing but he actually did alright.

I think next week I want to check out Pineapple Express.

Thirty Thursday

Hola!

The cute Starbucks girl was working this morning. It's about the closet thing I have to a perfect send off. What's the perfect send off? The perfect send off in the morning would involve a smooch goodbye. But, I'll take the next best thing, a mocha. Even though I paid for it. It's a wonderful service. It fills the void that happens to be vacant for now.

I keep spilling on myself today... I'm a freaking slop. Maybe I'm just lazy, I am slothful after all. Happens I guess.

Last night was boring. I did my shopping. I've got the foods for my outing this weekend. Tonight I'll be packing the sh*t up. I read some articles in a couple Rolling Stones I've had staked up. Nothing too interesting. One article was about Skatopia. It's an 80 acre skate park in Ohio that promotes anarchy and craziness for free supposedly. I just wonder about their insurance costs...

I started to re-watch King Ralph as well last night... I got to the part where the girl was given money to sabotage Ralph. Then I passed out... It was about 9:45... Lame I know. But that's how I roll, on the lamer side of life. I more comfortable there.

Holla!

Not much to report today.

A new Wacom pen is schedule to arrive via the UPS Monday morning. Can I get a woot woot? Yours truely will be back in business on the wacom front anyways. I have a huge canvas I need to paint too. I've had it since last December... An idea for it finally hit me. Elephants... Weird huh? In the mean time I've been watching movies, drinking beers and eating pizza. I lead a very slothful life. I know what I enjoy alright.

I watched The Wackness with Ben Kinsley last night. I'd say that it was enjoyable, it had a couple funny parts. It was weird seeing Ben with lots of hair. Josh Peck the kid from "Josh and Drake" did alright too. Man that kid has changed for the better, look wise. Good for him.

I also caught the latest episode of Weeds. Good episode this week indeed. "El Andy will not die this day... You will die!"

Wad & myself later smoked cigars outside where we spotted a huge spider living above our back door. We named her Abby. She even snatched a couple bugs while we were watching her. It was intense. Her web is huge too... Gross, spiders.

The Wackness had a good soundtrack. I ended up listening to Neil Young's Out On The Weekend a couple times. Along with Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie Album.

Tonight? I have to go to shopping... One of my least favorite things to do. I'm going camping / on a killing my liver adventure this weekend. I'll be gathering foods to survive on while I'm sleeping outside in a drunken stupor. JK I don't get that crazy... Very often. I am looking forward to playing a couple games of Croquet. You've gotta love a game that lets you use mallets. Especially once you find out someone has been juicing or cheating. Giving you the right to hit them with a mallet.

Have a good one kids.

Dam You Gravity!

I got my new Wacom tablet in the mail yesterday. I took my newly purchased tablet home yesterday after work. I created this elephant then all the sudden the Wacom pen jumped out of my hand and landed on the floor. Ever since my pen hasn't been working correctly. I took the pen apart to see if I could fix it. Upon entering the pen I had indeed broke a very weak piece in the pen. I tried super gluing it back together... No luck. So now I have to order a new pen, which is a bummer cause I was really getting the hang of it. For now I can use the eraser end until my new pen comes in the mail. Once I get my new pen hopefully it'll never meet the ground. So for those of you in the market for a Wacom Tablet, do not drop the pen... Apparently they're very fragile.

I watched Multiplicity last night. The movie was much funnier than I remembered it being as a kid. Probably cause I get the jokes now. :P

Gung Ho Sunday

How I spent my Sunday.

Woke up, made breakfast, changed the front passenger tire out for the spare in my trunk cause it was super bald. Decided, I need to get new tires all around before the snow flies. Picked up a little bit around the house. Commenced a movie marathon where I watched...

1. Son Of Rambow - very good
2. Doomsday - meh, entertaining if anything
3. Step Brothers - very hilarious, laughed so hard I cried
4. An American Crime - interesting and sad
5. Smart People - different, still trying to decide if I like Ellen Page or not.

(that's two Ellen Page movies in a row... I almost had a hard time with that.)

I then went to bed where I dreamed sweet dreams... where I forgot about them soon as I woke up.

Need to watch pile is growing.
*(have never seen yet)*
The Wackness
Driving Miss Daisy
Wonder Boys
Match Point

*(have seen before, but want to re-watch)*
Adams Family 1 & 2
King Ralph
Dan In Real Life
Serpico
Everything Is Illuminated
Princess Bride
American Splendor
Hitchhiker's Guide To Galaxy

Survived!

So I survived my 11 hour "class" today. I have a headache now. Talk about information overload. There were alot of minors in my class too. Couldn't really google the young ladies cause you didn't know if there were old enough even... Weird. They also made us watch two movies. The first one wasn't too bad. Just about a group of people doing a drinking experiment. Where they were monitored while they drank all night and even monitored while they slept. A gal in the movie puked... That was probably the only memorable moment of that movie. The second movie scared the idea of having kids out of my mind. It was called Smashed. Produced by HBO even. It was geared more towards teenagers cause it only involved teenagers. But it still got the message across. This movie was the graphic one where they showed the bloods and brains and wounds. Not to mention drilling into skulls. It was pretty crazy stuff. It scared me because teenagers are dumb and do stupid stuff. I don't know if I could be put into that situation of having to worry about my son or daughter being severely hurt to the point they almost die. Just to have them go back to drinking after they survived the horrific accident they were in. Ah stupid kids. I guess in a sense I'm still just a stupid kid.... Just with little more independence & responsibilities. MADD brought in a couple people to use scare tactics on us by telling us their very horrifying life altering experiences. It worked mind you.

There was also a young gal in my class with the last name of Puckett. I sort of wondered if she was any relation to Kirby Puckett.

Well time to head off to a BBQ - where I won't be drinking, even though I am thirsty after a day like today. Just doesn't seem right.

Hope you're all having a safe and pleasent weekend.

Inking & Spilling

I went to Dick Blick's after work yesterday and purchased some art supplies. Ink and brushes, I decided I wanted to experiment with inking. It's weird being in an art store looking at all the blank canvases waiting to become something. I took my new supplies home and tried them out instantly. I dinked around a bit with the india ink to get the feel and what have you. Then decided that I need to work on my brush handling skills more. I felt like an old lady with the shakes tracing lines I laid down. After a short session of shaking I figured it was time to pack it up for the time being. Doing so I quietly told myself not to spill the ink. What did I do? I spilled the entire bottle of india ink all over Billy's table. Turning everything black including the new brushes and pencil I bought. GREAT! Surprisingly it all cleaned up pretty well. My finger nails are still a little black. Nothing major though. I'll probably have to go purchase more ink soon too. The next time around I'm going to buy a bottle with a smaller opening.

I watched a movie called Relative Strangers last night. Not so good. It has Danny DeVito and Rob Livingston in it. The movie had a couple laughs mostly in Danny's parts. Other than that the movie as a whole had a cheaply made feel to it with a loud annoying soundtrack in the background of the entire movie. Which made it hard to concentrate. Two stars.

Humph

I'm really dreading my 11 hour class on Saturday. Yuck! Oh well. Life goes on.

I've decided last night that grocery shopping at Greatland Target is fine until you come upon their frozen pizza section.
You'd be surprised by how many vary types of frozen pizzas are floating around out there. However, Target is seriously lacking in this department. You can get your standard Jack's, Tombstones, Red Baron, Party Pizza business there but good luck finding anything else. The Cub I go to has probably the best frozen pizza selection ever. Here are my top five favorite frozen pizzas that you must try.

(In Specific Order)
1. Home Run Inn: Pepperoni & Sausage (The crust is amazing on this pie, I'm addicted I swear.)
2. Davanni's: Deep Dish Pepperoni (Takes for ever to make cause it's so deep, but so worth the wait.)
3. Freschetta: Pizza Amore's Meat Melody (Pre-Sliced)
4. Wolfgang Puck: Uncured Pepperoni Pizza (All natural)
5. Kashi: Roasted Garlic Chicken (Good for the heart)

So that's my top five as of today.
There's still some out there I haven't tried yet.

Sidenotes:
I watched episode 8 of Season 4 of Weeds last night. Weeds is a really good show. This season is alright, not as good as previous seasons. It's finally starting to get steam and getting juicy.

I also watched Shin A Light (The Rolling Stones Concert movie). I must say that I really enjoyed it. If you're any sort of fan of the Stones you must not hesitate any longer and go out and view this movie PERIOD

Bloopin Bloggin

I retooled my website last night & today cause I managed to mess it up this morning so I had to start over. But no worries.
It's not much yet. I'm still in the process of adding content to make it worth visiting. But do feel free to keep checking it out as the week progresses. I hope to be back a 100% by the end of the week. Zached.com

Side Notes: I watched a movie called Meet Bill last night. If you haven't already seen it yet it is worth a viewing, there are a couple laughs here and there throughout the whole thing. I gave it my standard 3 stars on Netflix.

My Starbuck girls weren't working this morning. Sort of sad, but this too shall pass. :P

Back to the grind in the big city.

My quick weekend to Williston, North Dakota was good, too short but overall really good. I enjoyed hanging out with the family and partying with them is always a blast. Seeing Izzy again was awesome. She's getting so big and fun. She's got a lot of new tricks and is learning more everyday. I apologize to everyone I didn't get to see up there. There's just never enough time.

Thunder In Paradise

It's storming this morning. It was fun watching the ominous sky roll in with the thunder and lighting. Probably going to be super humid now though once this thing rolls through. Good thing I work inside. Boo Ya!

I encountered a different girl behind the counter at Starbucks this morning. This one came out behind the counter while I was waiting for my hot drink to do some "restocking". But I'm pretty sure she came out to size me up. Not to mention, she went out of her way to say goodbye to me as I left. I think I've found a universe or loop hole if anything were my charm is irresistible to the ladies. I've tried bars, parties, libraries, malls no such suck luck as I have with my local Starbucks. Free cookies, penetrating looks, quick smiles... Something is going on with those Starbuck girls I'm telling you. Maybe it's the caffeine and different aromas rolling around that joint. At this rate my next girl friend will probably work at Starbucks. Just throwing that out there. Making a prediction if you will.

All my bags are packed down
I'm ready to go,
I'm standing here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
but the dawn is breaking,
it's early morn
the taxi's waiting,
he's blow his horn
already I'm so lonesome I could die

I'm leaving on a jet plane
don't know when I'll be back again
oh babe, I hate to go

Soon as 3:00 P.M. rolls around I'll be heading out on the road for a quick trip to No Dak.
I'm really looking forward to seeing my family, especially Izzy my niece. Pictures soon to come.

Loving Buck's Mocha Grande

It only took three consecutive visits to my local Starbucks for the cute girl behind the counter to figure out my drink of choice.
She's got me pegged, I don't think I ever had a chance. I think it's because I'm an easy read. Simple but elegant and graceful. Unless it's one of my clumsy days. Those days are far and few between though. The rest of my time is spent sneaking up on you like a ninja. A giant ninja on a caffeine kick... Just what the world needs.

I'd rather support a Ma & Pop coffee shop, but none of them are open when I head out in the A.M. So the cute girl behind the counter at Starbucks will be getting my A.M. business. The rest of my Mocha business will be spent at Spy House during any non-A.M. periods.

Thank you.

P.S. If you're looking for a good movie to watch. Head out and purchase or rent Wristcutters A Love Story. It's a good little movie about falling in love in purgatory. Check it out.

Tuesday it is.

My new license came in the mail yesterday. Wahoo! It feels really good to have it back I must admit. The whole ordeal put a damper on most of my summer. But I did learn a valuable lesson from the whole thing. I just hope I never make the same mistake again. I have a pretty good hunch I never will. The whole thing was a very big inconvenience (for a reason I know).
Just putting up with all the hoops they make you jump through to get everything back is enough to set me straight. I have one more hoop I have to jump through. An 11 hour class waiting to waste my Saturday. Pretty big hoop. But it's always better then the alternative.

Side notes: Not going to the dentist tomorrow. Postponing my visit until I figure out my options better. Heading to Williston for a quick trip to see some family this weekend. Looking forward to the visiting not looking forward to the drive so much.

Nice weekend

I had a nice relaxing weekend. Friday night Billy's Mom was in town. So Friday night was spent watching Billy make sea food for everyone including his GF Crystal Rose, Wade, and myself. It was very scrumptious. As always it was fun watching Wade have a weird reaction to sea food. We laughed and drank and listened to music. Couldn't ask for a better Friday night. I think I had a few to many beers as I was a little hung over the next morning. Nothing a couple pills and a shower couldn't handle. Saturday I cruised the cities listening to music. It was nice to go for a ride. I saw parts of the city I hadn't seen for awhile. Looking at people go about there Saturday routines is sort of relaxing for me. Saturday night I grilled a T-bone steak and potato and had a couple beers and watched a couple movies from my "Need to Watch Pile". A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Grand Theft Parsons, and Saving Private Ryan were the movies I watched Saturday night. Sunday I made myself a big breakfast as usual and washed clothes as I continued to shrink my Need to Watch Pile. Wrapped up Private Ryan, Encino Man, The Brave One, War of The Worlds, and Fight Club. I made Tacos and went to bed. Still in my pile of Need to Watch Movies - Adams Family 1 & 2, King Ralph, Driving Miss Daisy, Wonder Boys, Match Point, Serpico, Dan In Real Life.

So there's your typical Zach Weekend. Hang out, drink beer, hang out, cruise, watch a shit ton of movies, hang out, eat breakfast, and sleep. Now you know how to have a Zach Weekend if you ever want one. I'm always accepting company too, consider it.

Tootles!

Reinstatement

So, yesterday I received my notice of reinstatement for my license. Better watch out foolish suckas I'm back to a 100% again. Can I hear a what what. Cops still make me nervous though. That'll probably take awhile to go away.

Side notes: I finished reading "Survivor" By Chuck Palahniuk yesterday. I hit up the BN and fetched another Palahniuk book called "Choke" Chuck is an interesting writer that's for sures.

Day After Dentist Visit.

I saw the dentist yesterday. I let them into my mouth to poke and prod around a bit. To their surprise my teeth were in fairly good shape for being a dude who hadn't been to the dentist within a decade. (I think it's because I avoid the sodas.) Any-who, I'm scheduled for a Root Canal next Wednesday. Wahoo! My tooth doesn't hurt, just needs to be taken care of before it starts to hurt. My dental insurance will cover half of the procedure. Which is better then none I suppose. My teeth were swore after being tugged and pulled on for a couple hours last night. But they do feel lighter and whiter today. Most of my summer has been full of dread. I need to change that. I think after August I should be out of the clear of having to do things I don't want to do but have gotten myself into.

Could always be worse.

Dentist Visit Today.

I'm preparing for my first visit to the Dentist Office in more than eight years. It should be very interesting. I'm certain they're going to find some sort new crazy dental disease growing in my mouth. Hopefully, I'll be back with whiter cleaner teeth. Wish me luck, over and out.
